About NG-CDF Board
Established under the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Act, 2015 to oversee equitable socio-economic development and poverty alleviation across all 290 constituencies in Kenya.
Key Achievements of the Fund
The National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) has significantly contributed to enhanced socio-economic development of the people of Kenya at the grassroots level. By focusing resources directly where citizens live, the Fund has transformed school infrastructure, increased access to education, enhanced national security, and spearheaded grassroots digital adoption.
Education Infrastructure Development
Over 60% of total NG-CDF development allocations have been directed into basic and secondary school infrastructure across all 290 constituencies:
Education Bursaries & 100% Transition
Under statutory provisions, approximately 35% of each constituency's allocation is earmarked for financial bursary support:
National Security & Administrative Facilities
Construction of over 1,200 administrative chiefs' and assistant chiefs' offices, modern police posts, sub-county police headquarters, and staff housing in remote and marginalized regions, directly enhancing grassroots peace, rapid emergency response, and community policing.
Constituency Digital ICT Hubs (Jitume Centres)
Under the 2023 statutory amendments, the Board in collaboration with Konza Technopolis and the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy has rolled out the Constituency Innovation Hubs Programme. Over 86 digital hubs are fully operational nationwide, providing free high-speed fiber internet, workstations, and training for youth in remote work, freelancing, and digital technology.
Climate Action & Environmental Sustainability
Aligning with the National 15 Billion Trees Initiative, NG-CDF funds school tree nurseries, solar water pumping in arid and semi-arid constituencies, and rainwater harvesting systems across thousands of public institutions nationwide.
